Track Record
The fastest racing lap record from the premiere of the World Series by Renault on the 7th August 2005 is held by Austrian Andreas Zuber. The Formula Renault 3.5 pilot drove in a time of 1:13.050 minutes, which is appropriating an average of 175.900 km/h, clearly improving on the old record from 1998 of Uwe Alzen in a Porsche GT.
A potential improvement of the track record was impressively shown with a time of 1:11.09 minutes. This time was achieved by Polish Robert Kubica at the Formula Renault 3.5 training. Officially, only racing laps can be taken into account for these statistics.
Endurance test for driver and material
3.667 kilometre length (motorbike sports) or 3.696 kilometre length (automobile sports) with a width of 11 to 13 metres: additionally, the track can be split into two lengths of 2.435 and 1.155 kilometres, allowing two seperate events to take place at once. The smaller C course can be irrigated, allowing manipulation of rain conditions for drivers safety training with wetness simulation. Around the split bend, a dynamic driving field is installed, also with irrigation systems. The fastest point of the track is located at the start / finish line, where theoretically, speeds of up to 280 km/h can be reached.
Unique Arena character
The Motorsport Arena Oschersleben did not get its arena title by chance. The arena character, highly appreciated by all visitors, is unique amongst German race tracks. All spectator stands are located 6-8 metres above the track. This situation allows guests to be up close to the track and the motorsport experience. Especially in the north-west area of the premises, the arena character creates a unique atmosphere. Many parts of the track can be seen from here and the thrill and enthusiasm is transferred from drivers to spectators.
Saftety is first priority
The demands of safety for spectators and participants at racing events is enormous. Right from the start, at the planning phase, great emphasis was put on generously sized gravel beds and borders. Triple crash barriers, sturdy tyre stacks and safety fencing, emergency lanes, traffic lights and digital CCTV at race control complete the safety package.
